LONGRIDGE JULY WALK

Setting out from School Square at Guy's Court  a group of 24 walkers were led along the canal by Elaine ably supported by Peter.

It was a beautiful day and the walkers were in good spirits despite one of their number having to sit by the canal due to a severe attack on his foot by a horsefly a few days earlier.

There were many boats on the canal even though the level, due to the dry weather was well down on normal.

Under a few bridges (45 &46)
                                            and over another(47)

Brought the happy band to the A6 and a short walk to the bridge crossing the railway line, bypassing the remains of Bilsborrow Station and down to the River Brock.
This view shows it in happier days when there was some water in the river.
After a scenic ramble through fields and yes a cattle shed....

The group returned to the Guy's Court complex to enjoy a well deserved lunch and the odd quaff or two.
These three kept the adults                        Fr Tom, enjoying himself.
 in order.

Then this appears in the Longridge News
Well said Fr Tom.
