President Tony and Kelly Godden organised and lead Lytham St
Annes Circle five (six) day trip to Cork recently. The first event was attendance at Cork Circle’s
meeting. The whole party of nineteen,
not all were from LSA, participated in a specially conducted tour of Jameson’s
Midleton Distillery and a celebratory dinner on the Saturday. During the rest of the time different groups
enjoyed among other things an open top bus tour of the city, visits to local
attractions such as Elizabeth Fort, the cities two cathedrals and Spike Island. A number also travelled along part of the Wild
Atlantic Way. Such a good time was had
that the Irish didn’t want us to leave, well a certain Mr Michael O’Leary, but
it is hoped that he will be paying for privilege of us extending our stay in
the Emerald Isle by 7½ hours.
