On 17th August, Accrington Circle held their Annual Summer Evening Walk.
In previous years this day has always seemed to be the wettest of the year. However on this occasion it was a warm and sunny evening. Around forty people gathered at Rishton Cricket Club and split into two groups.
One group just did a gentle stroll through Cut Wood Park and around Rishton Reservoir.
The second group were more adventurous and included a section of the towpath alongside the Leeds Liverpool Canal. Both groups returned to the cricket club for a buffet supper and well-earned drink.
The day turned out to be quite remarkable as no less than five people present were celebrating their birthday. The photo shows some of the walkers about to depart.
On 12th September, Brother President, Andrew & Karen Dabrowski organised an afternoon tea at Haworth Art Gallery in Accrington. Around thirty people attended and prior to the meal they looked round the gallery, famous for its collection of Tiffany Glass.
The photos show some of the assembled group 'eyeing-up' the "goodies" before tucking in!
