Accrington Brothers have Drive!

The Circle Car treasure Hunt took place on the 19th of July, reputedly the hottest night of the year, due to great pre-planning!

Eleven cars were flagged off by John and Trish Whiteside on an easy ten mile jaunt through the beautiful Ribble Valley Villages.

Clues varied from the price of petrol to the exact names of churches, St Charles Borromeo at Rishton caught a few out as it has been known simply as St Charles for ever!

Things to collect included flora and fauna and the hardest these days, a used match!   Forty two brothers wives family and friends applied their brains to the task and ended up for Supper at The Swan with Two Necks in Pendleton, near Clitheroe. A CAMRA pub of course and enjoyed a delicious supper in a balmy 28C.

The winners were the team lead by Andrew and Karen Dabrowski our vice president….. they untangled the clues collected the bits and did not have to back track much!  No one got lost or gave up, which was a first, it must have been too easy really.

Photo shows the first car away, Nick Mc Neil and his buddy in an MGB, perfect for the summer weather.
