Brian is in excellent spirits and he feels truly humbled by the overwhelming prayers, Masses, cards and visits he has received since his operation.
He has now come to terms in his own mind with the position in which he now finds himself. In a true spirit of the power of God's will, he realises that God must still have a purpose for him and he is willing to accept that when he is ready to leave hospital. Obviously this will be some time in the future due to the rehabilitation programme that is necessary to mobilise him. Throughout our chat we shared many jokes together and when a visitor arrived I was dismissed in Brian's typical jocular manner.
Brian is pleased that the hospital in Longridge is at the rear of St. Wilfrid's church and he is able to see the church from his room. The priest has been over to see him and take him Holy Communion. Jokingly, he now states that he is 'Legless in Longridge'!!
Brian firmly believes in the power of prayer, which has helped him and Noreen cope with this current situation and he has asked that you all continue to pray for them both and all other Catenians who are sick.
