Terry Hephrun, Secretary of
Burnley Circle, has been appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire by The
Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, The Lord Shuttleworth KCVO. He will join the existing team of Deputies who help and support the
Lord-Lieutenant in his duties as Her Majesty The Queen’s representative in the
county of Lancashire.
(Click here to read more about his role) The Office of Lord-Lieutenant is military in origin and dates from the reign of Henry VIII, when the holder was responsible for the maintenance of order and for military purposes relating to local defence.Lord-Lieutenants are Her Majesty’s personal representative in a county or area. Their prime duty is to uphold the dignity of the Crown. |
The Catenian Association is an international body of proudly Catholic laymen and permanent deacons who meet at least once a month in local groups called Circles, to enjoy each other's company and thereby strengthen their family life through friendship, faith and fun! It is open to practising Catholic laymen from the age of 18 years. Many of the Circles’ activities involve the members’ wives and families.
