On a pleasant evening of 18th December, 79 members, ladies and friends settled down to enjoy a Christmas meal, listen to some appropriate extracts from "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens and join in with Christmas Carols and songs.
The readings read between courses underlined the true meaning of the festive season and those present experienced it in the socialising during a meal.
The Christmas Carols, led by Ted Donnelly on keyboard and his daughter Eileen on vocals were a true reflection of "music being the food of love".
The singing then ascended into boisterous renditions of "White Christmas", "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer" and others with the crescendo of participation in a wonderful rendition of the "12 Days of Christmas" which had to be experienced to be appreciated. The evening concluded with a hearty rendition of "Auld Lang Syne" and the wishing everyone "A very Happy and Holy Christmas" as 79 weary but very happy folk set out on their journey home.
Next year the photographer may remember to take some pictures!!!!!
