At their March meeting Accrington Circle enrolled Kevin Holden into the
Association. Whilst the meeting was in progress the ladies were entertained by
Guest Speaker Dave Parkes, a retired Special Education Teacher and Consultant,
who gave a brief account of his career along with interesting and amusing
anecdotes. During the meal that followed Director Mark Conroy presented Paul
Lawrenson with a scroll for 40 years membership of the Association and Karen
Dabrowski presented Dorothy Lawrenson with a bouquet of flowers. Two amusing
speeches from Mark and Paul then followed. A cheque for over £220 was handed
over to the Guest Speaker for his chosen charity, East Lancashire Hospice. This
was made up from the proceeds of a raffle and private donations.
