Broughton in Craven celebrate Burn's Night.
On 27th January, just two days late, 55 brothers, wives and guests celebrated the birth of Robbie Burns at Colne Golf Club,
(He was actually born in Ayrshire not Colne.)Over a meal of Haggis Kneeps and Tatties we followed the traditional scheme of things augmented by a few jokes and stories, which helped pass the time. It was a great evening with plenty of laughs and chatter as well as good food.
Brother President, Chris Beesley thanked all for attending and proposed a toast to the lassies.
Brother Joe Laughlin, resplendent in his kilt, performed the address and shared a "we dram" with our piper, Jason Fletcher and Lee the Golf Club chef. This is a most popular function, which we have held for the last 18 years. Everyone is looking forward to the next one.
