Below are pictures of our January, February and March walks. We were blessed with reasonable weather for them.
JANUARY
Parking at Preston Crematorium we had a stroll down to Brockholes taking in part of the Millenium Wheel and the Ribble Way. Here Fr Tom is leading the charge across lakes to further discover the delights of Brockholes, before dining at the Plough in Grimsargh.
FEBRUARY
Edmund and Judy's first time in charge organised a very pleasant stroll around the River Brock and surrounding areas. Parking at the "Dorchester" (Cross Keys at Whitechapel), a convivial lunch was taken on return.
MARCH
Thanks for this walk go to Bob and Brenda Thompson arranging a scenic and pleasant stroll around Nicky Nook. This was a great, 5 mile walk with a gentle ascending start, although we didn't ascend Nicky Nook itself, and beautiful pools, good views and a lovely woodland section with a stream. We parked at the Applestore cafe at the start and of course enjoyed lunch having completed the circular route.
Unfortunately no pictures of our snooker v Burnley. However after winning the first match on a black ball game. Burnley produced a superb game to win the second match. With the tense situation in the third game we were unfortunate to lose but wish Burnley well in future matches. Well done to Joe, John and Steve.
RUGBY
Six members of Longridge Circle Michael Blair, Steve Hardacre, Charles Maher, Mark O'Connell and John Marshall (the 6th is the photographer)
and four honorary members of the Circle
visited Preston Grasshoppers to enjoy a meal, the match against Lymm and each other's company on Saturday 6th April.
Even with awful conditions thanks to storm Kathleen, we were treated to an entertaining match with the bonus of a Grasshopper's win in the dying seconds with a late unconverted try and a score line 46-42 in Grasshoppers favour.
Many thanks to Bob Thompson for organising and we look forward to next season.
