The Walter Manley Trophy is contested for annually by Westmorland and North Lancs Circles in memory of Walter who was a brother of both circles. This year, as last, it was by a quiz and the victors, by 24 to 23 points, were North Lancs Circle. Westmorland have held the cup for many, many years as they 'lost' it by leaving it at an engravers. I hope it's new holders don't try the same trick!

However, another team from Westmorland Circle won the overall contest by getting 25 points out of the possible 35 available. The quizmaster was Bro. Tony Harrison of Westmorland Circle.
