After Garstang Circle's August meeting Brothers and their ladies from across Province were entertained by
guest speaker for the evening, Mrs Norah Hoyles MBE of Garstang. Her talk was on the history of 'Garstang in Bloom', an organisation entirely of
volunteers of which Mrs Hoyles was chairperson since its inception 28 years ago until last year. The 'Garstang in Bloom' volunteers, including some Catenians, have worked tirelessly over the
years in enhancing the town and cultivating small areas, hitherto unused land,
for floral displays. Their hard work has won them many gold awards both in national and international competitions over the
years,
