Broughton in Craven Circle enjoy an excellent talk.

On Thursday 5h November Broughton-in-Craven Catenians were treated to a very interesting slide show by John Peet, horticulturalist, who told us about his personal experiences in Nepal.
John is a trustee of the Ikudal Forest Trust in Nepal, which promotes new forestation in a remote part of Nepal called Tipling. Here the Jesuits also do a great job as social workers. Family life is very fragile due to the immense poverty; and as teachers helping people with start-upsso that they can help themselves.
Circle members and visitors were very impressed by the work done in such a remote and dangerous region of the world. To get there requires passage along a single track dirt road cut into the mountain side and a long hike up to the village. Brother President, Franklin Schutz thanked John for his talk and wished him well with future ventures.

Before the performance we had our traditional pre-theatre meal at the Bingley Beckfoot Golf Club..
