Presidents' Reunion - Part 2
Province 10 Presidents reunion for 2007 and 2014.
On Saturday 12th September Past Presidents from Province 10 in 2007 and 2014 held a reunion at Colne Golf Club. It was a great occasion with 25 of us enjoying a carvery lunch and catching up with old friends.
It was decided to join the years together because a number of brothers served in both years and Brother Terence Donnelly 2014 Provincial President was president of Chorley Circle in 2007.
During the event we remembered Brother Phil Morris who was Provincial President in 2007 and is sadly no longer with us. We also thought about others from 2007 who had also passed away. Brother Phil went on to be Director for Province 10 following Brother Gerry Martland who attended the event with his wife Pauline. It was great to see brother Gerry there as he has suffered from recent ill health.

A corker of a trip
Thirteen brothers and wives of Province 10 travelled to Cork to
attend its Circle’s 500th meeting and celebrations. Eight made it a 5-day visit and enjoyed a
well organised programme of visits to Cohb, Jameson’s Midleton Whiskey
Distillery and either Blarney Castle or Kinsale. They dined very well even when they went to
the dogs (Curraheen Greyhound track) and the weather was dry throughout the time and mostly sunny.

Twisting the night away
Brothers in Preston South (235) Circle held their annual barbecue over the August bank holiday and had a fantastic evening with around
80 family and friends. The event, which has become very popular within the
circle and beyond, was no exception this year and was hosted by Circle President, Brother Arthur Whitlock on his ‘back lawn’. Guests dined on steak, burgers and
all the trimmings washed down with the odd glass of wine and cask ale.
Music for the evening was once again provided by DJ Andrew
(Provincial President, Ken Dennis’ son) and a fantastic duo, 'The Jam Buddies'. The
dance floor was filled with varying levels of dancing prowess it has to be said
but everyone agreed that the evening was a roaring success once again.
