The Catenian Association is an international body of proudly Catholic laymen and permanent deacons who meet at least once a month in local groups called Circles, to enjoy each other's company and thereby strengthen their family life through friendship, faith and fun! It is open to practising Catholic laymen from the age of 18 years. Many of the Circles’ activities involve the members’ wives and families.

Westmorland retain the Walter Manley trophy
Last contested in 1996, Westmorland and North Lancashire
circles again vied for this piece of silverware with a quiz which Westmorland
won. The photograph shows the winning team
of Mrs Myra McCraith, Bro. Len and Pamela Gee, and Bro. President Nick McCraith
being presented with the ‘trophy’ by the quizmaster Bro. Tony Harrison. However there is more to this story which,
hopefully, will appear in full in Catena.

LSA Luncheon Club with add-on
This month Brothers, wives and wives of deceased Brothers met at The Grapes, Wrea Green for the Circle lunch before accepting an invitation to Bro. Mike and Frances King's residence within walking distance of the pub. There they enjoyed a variety of desserts as well as teas and coffees. This was the first such departure from the normal lunches and it is hoped won't be the last.
