Broughton in Craven Circle watch the end of an era

.
On Saturday 22nd November twenty-six Brothers, family and friends travelled to the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford, to watch the Bradford Catholic Players perform 'Carousel' by Rogers & Hammerstein.
A great night was had culminating in supper at the newly opened Alhambra restaurant. This has been an annual circle event for many years and has been organised by Circle Chamberlain, Harry Binns, for the past five years.

However this year marks the end of an era and after many years the Catholic Players are saying fairwell to the Alhambra and moving to Beckfoot School near Bingley. We thank them for many enjoyable shows over the years and will continue to support them in their new venue.

The picture show inside the new restaurant. The table shows Circle Registrar, Keith Nolan, his wife, Anne, and their children about to enjoy an excellent supper.

Remembrance and publicity

The venue for this year’s Lytham St Annes Circle’s Mass for Deceased Brothers was the Holy Family church at Freckleton on the perimeter of the Circle’s boundary.  The change was done to publicise the Association in a parish that has only one Circle brother resident.  The Mass for Vocations will similarly be held in another parish that also has only one brother.  After the Mass brothers and ladies enjoyed a meal with the Parish Priest, Fr Kevin Lowry, who had only been in the parish for six months and can be seen sitting at the far end of the table.
