At its March meeting Chorley Circle enrolled a new Brother,
Jack Knight.
Jack originated from Fleetwood and started his working
career in the brewing industry with Whitbread’s.
He emigrated to South Africa
to join South African Brewers, and it was there that he met and married Marion,
after converting to the Catholic faith.
His employers asked him to move to China for a period of 2
years to advise on a joint venture with a Chinese brewer; those 2 years
eventually became 17! During that time Jack and Marion were active in
supporting the Church, realising the problems that it faced in that country.
They returned to England some 3 years ago and settled in
Chorley, in St. Gregory’s parish, where they are active both in parish and diocesan affairs. Jack is a keen golfer, bowler, and skilful darts player – his
expertise already having been noted by the Circle.
