Preston Circle 14's Classic Car Night

On Tuesday the 27th June, Preston 14 Circle held their annual classic car night.

Thankfully, after a deluge of rain earlier in the day, the sun began to pop out thus ensuring the cars could be viewed in all of their glory. Many of the vehicles brought back fond memories for many of the circle and visiting brothers of motoring past prior to large jams, speed cameras and when air-con meant you wound down the window.

Three other key events took place on the evening, namely the handing over of two cheques to the Preston 14 nominated charities, Cardiac Risk In The Young and Vine House and after ten years in the office of Chamberlain, Brother Steve Vanden handed over the reigns to Brother Mike Swift.

CHORLEY CIRCLE – BURSARY GRANTS PRESENTATION

Six students from Holy Cross High School, Chorley, received Bursary Grants towards the cost of their trip to Lourdes as helpers on the forthcoming Liverpool Archdiocesan Pilgrimage.

Five of them are photographed receiving their cheques from Fr. Graeme Dunne, parish priest of St. Gregory’s, Weldbank, and Chorley Circle President, Brother Terence Donnelly. One student, Emily Chum was, unfortunately, unable to be present.

CHORLEY CIRCLE - -PRESIDENT’S SUNDAY

On Sunday, 25^th June, Chorley Circle President Brother Terence Donnelly and his wife Sandra attended Holy Mass at St. Gregory’s Church, Weldbank, supported by Brothers, wives, relatives and friends.

After Mass 45 Brothers, wives and guests enjoyed lunch and conversation at The Oak Royal Golf & Country Club Hotel, Withnell.
